Are you happy with your present system? YES / NO?

If yes, then why upgrade? Their is too much hype into keeping up with the Jones. If your present system runs the applications you need and you cannot forsee any need to change it, then a system upgrade is folly. Just bung in some more memory and get a BIOS upgrade (esp. if you are worried about the millenium bug).

If no, then you either want it for Games / CAD software / Network Server / your system is dead / you have money to burn ;o)

- for the former, I would recommend a pentium / K6 system clocking at about 133/166 MHz, with a minimum of 32 Mb, a decent 2 / 4Mb graphics card, a minimum x8 speed CDROM drive and finaly a 2.1Gb Hard-Drive. When using wordprocessors, medium database packages, windows, linux, general entertainement, the web; their is little point in the difference between instantaneous and even more instantaneous!
